The appendix is a narrow tubular pouch attached to the intestines. When the appendix is blocked, it becomes inflamed and results in the condition known as appendicitis. If the blockage continues, the inflamed tissue becomes infected with bacteria and begins to die from a lack of blood supply, which finally results in the appendix bursting (perforated or ruptured appendix).

There is no way of predicting when appendicitis will occur or prevent it from occurring.
There are no proven risk factors for appendicitis. It has been suggested that potential risk factors may include a diet low in fiber and high in sugar, family history, and infection.

Well our Friend SJ is in the hopsital recovering tonight from removeal of something she didn't need. Her tiny incisions look great and she will probably be home tomorow night. Hh was distraught but did well visiting her BFF tonight in the hospital. We are looking forward to many more overnights for SJ with us.

Wishing her a speedy recovery and that she will be dancing again soon - love you little girl.

a little pampering

Today I went to get a hair cut and a pedicure and I also had my eyebrows waxed. I often only get one service at a time ( read this as cheap- giggle at myself) but today I splurged. the hair cut was good though she cut a little too much from my bangs and the Pedicure was devine. I did the deluxe version with a little girl named Jane she was great she took her time and my legs feel wonderful - have not had a pedi since before my hospital stay in November. I lost a toe nail after that and am not sure why, it has re-grown most of the way and I am happy to say looks alright.
pink for the summer and wonderfully smooth and soothed - yes it is nice to take a little time out for me once in a while.

Meet Harley

Harley is about 3 1/2 years old and mostly a smooth coat Dachshund in red coloration with black accents lol - he has black eyeliner and a little black spot about mid way up his tail that looks as if some one took a sharpie to him. He is settling in, we took him in from a friend who will have too many dogs to be able to move soon. She needed a good spot for him and well I think we will do.

He is a little shadow to S and follows him, wants to be with him, wants to lay on him. He even was spoiled too- we had weened all dogs from the bed about 7 years ago- just about the time we got Sampson. But now we have a new addition to the bed - so far he is a good night sleeper and seems to be easy going for the most part. He is a little bit of a drama King and " squeals" if you touch him wrong or scare him in anyway !

This is Sampson, he seems gigantic compared to Harley, sampson is right at about 14 pounds these days and Harley is under ten so there is quite a size difference, he was never around any cats, but with how mellow rasputin is he seems interested in checking him out.

He is contented to find a lap to sit in and love on. he is happy to see us come home and to be with us. we have to learn new habits and find new ways to take two dogs where we were getting used to one. But we are happy to have a new addition to our household.

treated myself to this at lunch today - Have a little allergies going on and feel a little rough around my edges. sneezing, stuffy nose , cough and gunk, our spring has been incredibly dry and the trees are blooming like crazy ( we usually have snow knock all the blooms off) I have to say it is quite beautiful but hell on the poor sinuses and eyes.

So gearing up at the end of the summer for 30th High School reunion - Wow where has the time gone. I don't feel that old - giggles.

There are days when I see this girl in the mirror and acknowledge that for the next few years after HS and college this is my mental image of who I am. I was shaped and made and given an independant streak. ( already was pretty head strong) Durring these formative times. I will re-visit a few things here with you all and I am happy to report that the young women and men I knew then are just as wonderful today and even some are better and I want to get to know them too.

That might be me.
It is time to fire up my life again as I know it.
I have decided to continue to blog.
I took a hiatus for a while as I recovered.... it has been one long hard year.

my long and varied illnesses have pursued me from the end of July a year ago up till now. I don't want to really go into them further- suffice it to say at this point I want to be moving ahead and I think I may just be right at the edge of that fork in the road!

I want to continue to document my everyday existence , the things I find inspiration in, the trials and tribulations of an ordinary life, raising children. pursuing art- working for a living.

I am looking forward to capturing images ( I already have with my camera on my new windows phone) with my trusty Kodak and with my mind.
I look forward to finding new friends and seeing and finding the old ones too. In the last few days Facebook has allowed me to re-connect to two friends from my days as an independent girl.
I am looking ahead to days of wine and roses with my S, amazingly we have celebrated our 12th anniversary this month.
I am looking ahead to a spring and summer of softball with Hh and then into the fall.
I am looking ahead to adventures long ago put aside.
I am looking forward to finding my voice again. - cards - letters-blogs and scrapping too

Thank you to anyone who has patiently waited for the return of this missing blogger. Kisses and big hugs for waiting to see about the rumors of my demise.

How is it that I am the luckiest of women? I am so blessed and the universe sends me the tings and puts me in the places I need to be. Even in the confinement I have had to endure ( and endure some more) my Co-workers sent me the most lovley of bouquets - My family has been at my beck and call and My friends Have come from all over to lend support in everyway that is possible...... I am ever so grateful for all that I have and hold dear.

I am back at work for partial days probably until the holidays are done. the cellulitus is still not resolved fully and according to doctors may take months before I am well Enough!!

the good, the bad and the ugly

Yesterday I went to see the Infectious disease doc and the to follow up with a work comp doc. The news was mixed.

The good- The PICC line comes out tomorrow morning after a 10 day run on the Vancomycyn yes I am very happy about that this leads to the ugly truth but hang on a moment for that I will get there too. So that is a good thing in my book.

The bad- More antibiotics - What you say? yes I need to continue treatment another mixed bag of drugs for another 10 days this time a combination of two good antibiotics - but I can take them orally. but I need to remain off the leg still so feet elevated as much as I can and try to fight this off and get well. So I am going to try visualizing fighting white knight in my leg ( white good cells) and they will win and next week I hope to be fit for work !! it still a wait and see as of yesterday.

The ugly- the truth is I can't wait for the PICC line to come out so I can shower on a daily basis LOL with the way it is stuck in my arm a shower was less than desirable or manageable more than a couple of times. my routine was highly disturbed. Yes I will be resuming my daily ( or most daily) habit commencing tomorrow afternoon.

Yay - after 6 days at Avista I am home. I spent my first day today " homebound" I am not to drive or do anything to strenuous.

I arrived home in the afternoon yesterday and then I received supplies and a visit from a home health care agency. I will be giving myself Iv anti biotics until I am released to return to duty ( that could be 7-10 days) . I have a "power PICC " and it has seals that have vacuum to them. So I had to learn how to administer my drug and clean up and flush my own lines. All good I am a quick learner and fast study though there were a few moments when I had a pain pill an was not 100% certain I was following the procedure.

We ended up going to purchase a recliner - we bought a Lane, and moved our love seat in the downstairs office to the bedroom. so the recliner is there near the TV. it is awesome and allows me to rest with my feet up. S hooked me up to the 52 inch screen with my computer !! so I can read e-mail surf the net and generally have a great time home alone.

I will see an infectious disease person tomorrow afternoon., and a home health nurse will be here tomorrow for the Blood draw to measure the amount of my antibiotic call a trough? she changed my dressing too.

I didn't post this on tueday when I wrote it - posting today

so still kicking- and trying to get this cellulitis under control.... after much agonizing about this the doc installed a PICC line see above. it is in my upper arm and it goes to the breast bone. and i will be getting vencomyicin iv for at least another 10 days. one more night in hospital and hopefully home tomorrow with drugs.

what a nice facility to have to be at if you need care! all the nurse staff have been so nice to me here even the hard job of being here overnight. two nights now. Carole,Crystal, Catelyn, Maria,Jodi,Jackie,Emilly, Tiffany and Dr.Fanestil his aide Donna and I am sure i have missed someone-Deb in the ER and Trish too. I am on dose number 7 of iv antibiotics, i am getting motrin 600's for pain as needed... it does seem to help for a while but today the pain is more intense than it had been yesterday. i have elevated my legs even more with pillows but still i am a bit perplexed by the intensity of this thing in my legs

the day did not turn out as ecpected yesterday- my work comp doctor visit turned into a trip to the ER at Avista hospital in Superior. My ER visit turned into a stay ( one night so far-with one more at least coming up)

What you say?- well this is what at the moment a cell infection called cellulitis- this is what web md says about it. It can be very serious and cause complications so the best thing is what is being done for me now anyway!! Iv antiboitics and off my feet rest for a few days while my body tries to heal and get well.

And to think all this from falling down on a rug!

Well I was so looking forward to thanksgiving - I have lots of food and we invited our friends K and A and their family to join us for a meal and fun- so now i am stuck in a hospital bed I know i will at least be here one more night - life gives you things you make the best with them.

I am super thankful this year for a wonderful Husband in S. I love my children Hh and J so much... finnally settling with J into a more adult conversation. thankful for the fun we have as a family. my Setep sons D1 and D2.I am thankful for my in laws,outlaws and exteneded family it has been a wonderful year with visits with our family. I am thankful for my friends,K8 , her mom and daughter..My friend Karen ( who is making dinner at my house) her famliy, grateful they were able to oull through a major crisiswith health and life work. My newest friend Jean wonderful sence of humor and likes me for me. I am happy to say I love my job at the university and thankful to still have it and benefits.

Knees- Black and blue

I had a mishaps on Wed - last week - I will post some photos of the actual ( ugly knee) I went to google images of black and blue knee and the funny thing is sox were the most prevalent return on my search LOL

Well I did not have any socks on - and I fell down - I was at work and it was later in the day. I tripped going into Bldg 500 ( old fitzsimmons) on a wipe your feet rubber and cloth type mat ... there were actually quite a few people who saw me do it and one lady even commented that I was " not the first one today" to have fallen!!! WTF why didn't some one do something sooner if that was the case. . . I had a big case of embarrassment and a kind man wanted to help me up ... I wanted nothing more than to be invisible. but I did get up at the time, went on my way took care of my end of day business there and rode home on the bus ( all the while i could feel the pressure and increased heat and size of my knee)

I went to work the next day- Thursday but did report this incident as work comp /safety related. so they sent me off to the Doctors where they proceeded to take a series of x-rays to be sure I had not broken anything. well I had not ( thanks God - what a blessing) My fat knees saved me again. I think I was so shocked to have fallen i didn't do anything to break my fall there by saving me from anything broken.

The bad news it there is severe arthritis on the knee itself---- just like the right now the left has been told it should be hurting ----- (click to see entry about other fall on knees) ----on those days when the weather turns colder.... the swelling has gone down some ( but still not done) I have pins and needles and burning on my leg!! it sucks and it hurts but I am still in the land of the living getting up and going best I can. will keep you posted to the progress hahaha

So our house for thanksgiving? - yes we will be at home this year to celebrate with family and friends. we will be deep frying turkeys and we will have stuffing and sides and desserts it will be a feast for the season. A thanksgiving for having all that we need. Joy in our life and Friends and family.

we had a pre-cursor to our meal on saturday night with J and Hh, SSD2 and S and I his mama and her partner PJ all for Dinner and fun around my table making memories. We had large rib eye steaks and potatos and asperagus yumo all finished with a red velvet cake for S's birthday Celebration. Happy birthday Babe I hope we spend many more to come.

So in the post below I explain we took paneling ( who knows how old) off the dining room wall. In its place we finished the dryway primed and painted the whole room White - so when we were finished Hh and I had already framed family photos we took in May - we did this several months ago. She and I decided we would put them up where we could enjoy them. we also wanted "something else" to fillout this blank white canvas.

So we went to Hobby Lobby and purchased a sentiment ( wall words) and now I will reveal the product of our work.

So tonight is the softball banquet for Hh and the teams _ I of course have contributed the 200 + softball photos I took (lol) - this has nothing to do with the elk pictured above I just wanted to give you something to look at !!

over the past weekend we did a load of apples - from our tree in the front yard this was the best crop ever- all the neighbors wanted some all got some, we made apple sauce and it is quite yummy

we spent sunday on a project that needed to be finished, we too paneling off the dining room wall- if anyone has been at our house they know that has been there forever. we we finally finish - painted and adorned the wall with words.

we had 70 degrees plus until tuesday night- now we have very chilly weather. waiting for a predicted 3-4 inches overnight.

3rd annual chili cookoff a success

We had 6 different kinds of chili - and friendly competion for highly coveted golden Spoon Award. The 1st prize went to a co-worker's wife who made green chili !! The silver spoon went to another co-worker who chilli was outstanding and flavorful.

The third prize went to a co-worker who brought " drangon's breath" chili and knocked everyones sox off with it's flavor and spicy bite.

I sadly did not even win a prize this year, though technically I came in 4th... LOL but the competion was fierce - I have to say I already won a prize and recognition from my peers with a "JOLLY" award.

so over sunday I spent time at my parents home. spending my coins was a topic that came up. I have done alot of soul searching and learning about myself with thearpy over the years ( my friends know to be true) suffice it to say I don't see eye to eye with my mom- what's new there? She sees my life and spending one way ,I see it another. I am more selfish with my time these days - but importntly that makes me a harder person. It has been harder to choose to not communicate the negative.... I still find myself there sometimes. It has been harder to be colder to those around me... for so many years my kindness is taken for granted. It is harder to be less free with my time ... my volunteer spirit has dampened a bit. This was a telling quote for me to consider.

Hh had a great freshman homecoming, thrusday evening Pomona beat legacy and that is always a good thing for homecoming.

Saturday was jam packed, we did nailes ( hers blue) mine (red) we went and did hair, we re-pierced ear-holes that had closed off, we came home got her dressed taken for pictures and even to the resaurant on time. we had to take her to the dance and I went to deliver softball photo to the coach- yikes that was on the pre-dance, then we came home wanting icecream, there was none to be found and vanilla

The north faces still have a few visible snow spots- and we saw lots of preparation for the snow season, road markers were up everywhere and all the paving on the park roads was just about done, the last little bit was on the summit at trail ridge road. It was quite chilly at the summit about 55 degrees and windy but the sun was shining. It was a grand day for an adventure in the park with great company.

A friend and I went to Rocky Mountain National Park for a little R & R yesterday, while there we took some photos into the canyon below fall river road near the summit and you can see the smoke from the boulder canyon fire

- it was strange and looked like fog, a stranger stopped with us on the pull out and asked if it was fog or mist and we told them about the fire burning below.

There is so much damage everywhere from the pine beetle that the forests are like tinder boxes ready to go in a moment. The fire has not caused us to shut down at work but there is so much haze everywhere.

the game day and practice schedule has been dictated to us, the fund raisers are a coming soon. we are a bit overwhelmed with competitive sports... I hope everyone who knows us will have their support wallets available :-) yikes.

I really feel very green. they need score keepers and photogs ( that may be something I can do )

there are all kinds of stressors for Hh but she is managing. we told her tonight a bath was in order - she has shin splints - and hurts. she will work though it in her own time, she wants ExJ's approval, but he has never given much in the way of support for any of the activities she has been involved with. I hope he can give more to this - but know he really won't so a little sad and hard on her.

The outstanding tile layed by J, just prior to cutting his thumb nearly of three tiles from the end of the job.

this is an amazingly beautiful layout with a ton of triangle cuts that J had to make mostly with a razor knife, that is what nearly sliced his thumb right off.

So my E.R Baby - strikes again. J nearly severed part of his thumb while at the house over the weekend cutting in Tiles for the upstairs bathroom. Why on a sunday? seems like this kid was destined to have emergencies. He was almost done and had about three cuts left to do when the razor utility knife cut right through the thumb but left it attached at the fingerprint pad. we were going to go and have dinner out but that got cutailed with and ER visit.

he got about 8 stiches and the doc used some super glue on his nail to hold it all together, we will see how it does in the next day or so, he has it wraped pretty well right now, but he will have to see it tomorrow . the ER recomended to go to a hand specialist too. so one step at a time right now. Life with boys always an adventure ( you seriously can't make this stuff up.

I have been in search of a new pair of sandals for all of the summer, and really starting last year too, I have bought a few things but none that picked my fancy like these. My friend K8 already knows they are cool and comfy and great... I just really never had a chance to " find a great place to try them on, I also Have a wide foot and it is sometimes hard for me to get into a shoe ....

Well Hh and I were on a quest for softball gear and I said since we were at Dick's sporting good I was going to at least look at the sandals so I did find these and have been wearing them ever since. they are navy with a grey foot bed and oh so snug and nice to wear. they even have siping for extra traction in the lug soles. I LOVE them .

Today is the last day for Lisa, the person we hired for Colorado Springs benefits office, unbelievable that it is a short time we became good friends, we shared lots and it was nice to have a chat buddy even though it was alot of work related items. She has had a rough year but was offered a really good paying job not too far from home and we can't compete with our no raises from the University. So good Luck and much Success my friend I will miss you.

I am very sorry for the lack of communication.

Life has kicked me in the butt ( literally) I had a boil on my big butt and it turned into a major issue, I have not been that ill in a very long time. It was infected and had to have a drain and antibiotics for a 10 day stint before I felt really any better :) S was a real trooper and cleaned and packed the wound with care for many days. I am on the mend and itchy so I believe I am healing.

Before that we went on a trip to Nebraska ( Hardy) for a Pedersen side family reunion. in the middle of the July heat wave, we took the new Kia and had fun got great gas mileage. It was a fast turn around, Hh during that week was at Camp Grandma's for the first time in a couple years. That required extra drive time up and back to Colorado springs. Her and Gramps went on high adventure, to the airforce academy, the Olympic training center, Cripple creek, Seven Falls and to the fine arts Museum.

Last week we had my Brother Gg here for the beginning of his vacation. he stayed with us and we had fun entertaining him and he entertained us. During that time we have had issues in the bathroom upstairs for a while but the shower doors were very old (20) and needed to be replaced so Sunday after he was on his way to the next destination we replaced the shower doors, but in doing that S lost a screw down the sink, he then went to get it out with a magnet on a stick and managed to poke a hole right through the P trap it was old ( 25) too! so off to the hardware store and a simple fix is now a mini re-model with new paint and new hardware and a new lick and stick tile floor, so a few more days before we have it ready again for company.

Gg and I had a great little side trip to Rocky mountain national park (RMNP) and Estes Park. it was a lovely day and we took lots of photos of him and me in the new soul. so I will post some up soon.

We had a fantastic Dinner on Saturday night at a restaurant in the Hotel Monaco called Panzano's the food was wonderful and fresh , the service attentive and pleasant. Yummy would go there again I told S he could take me back there. fantastic bread and we had calamari appetizer that was out of this world tender and tasty.

Gg, Hh and I went to the Ellie Calkins Opera House at the Denver preforming arts complex - a outstanding venue, to see Natalie Merchant on aug 3rd, a fantastic show, musically I can't think of many better a performance I have witnessed in a long time. her newest album " leave your sleep" She was Fabulous and musicians she had playing with her were great too. she danced and sang her way through her newest album, go check it out online, poems set to music. So good.

Hh is going to a lacrosse game at invesco field with friends and neighbors- there should be great fireworks and fun times. SSD2 wanted to Go home and that is where S will take him this evening too.

we had a nice time yesterday with our Friend Dan and J came by and stayed for dinner and some fun after and before. I am so proud of him, he finally got his driver's licence and is driving his own vehicle. he is a grown up guy these days, It is nice he can set aside some of the things and make a little time for me.

The weather was fairly mild today and we just had a bit of a rain shower- nice for the firemen and police not to worry too much about the fireworks. Maybe we will try to go somewhere for a " view " of some of the 40 to fifty displays happening around the City and Suburbs of Denver.

Mom Van nets Good all around!

Well we donated the Van to a great Program in Denver, this is the 3rd car we donated! to Step 13 real change , not spare change. that is their motto, and what a blessing all around, When we got the new vehicle we asked about a trade and the dealer was only going to give us 100$ so we said well we will give it away then and we know just who will get it. it was running and not in terible shape so they were able to sell it right away and we got 8x's what we would have from the trade. ( we can write it off on taxes!!)

What a wonderfully sunny day we all suffered and had to borrow sun screen !! red rocks was fantastic, all the rain we had made the vegetation green, the rocks red and the sky blue!

SSD2 was well rehearsed and able to go all the way down to the stage get across with a bit of help and guidance and get his diploma - fantastic. Gram Olie and PJ were there for support as was Hh and I even though it was the last day of open enrollment ( i had to go to work and stay till 5 pm) but it was so worth it. we are very proud of our wonderful son.

Life has handed me a long list of to do's and at the end of the day I want to not do anymore.

But I have had a few great things that I haven't even covered here at all . 1st of all SSD2 has graduated!! unbelievable in some ways the best thing ever in others. He was wonderfully composed and did well through a long ceremony at Red Rocks amphitheater. He did not get the actual paper diploma, as he will be continuing to receive services from Jefferson county transitional services - this program geared to help him transition to bus riding and making his way to his Job ( he is employed one day a week!) I don't know if we ever dared to dream this type of good stuff would happen.

While we celebrated with SSD2, S' mom joined us with her friend PJ- for all the good stuff, she sprang for the best gift ever - a family photo- all of us and some of us and groups of us had pictures taken. We love them and will post up a few here as well as send hard copies to all the folks who will enjoy having the paper version as well as the digital version.

J has finally Made it too ! I am so proud he persevered and got his actual diploma and now has his Driver's licence too! it was a joy to have all the boys together in our photo and he is so handsome and sweet he agreed to do it for me. I love that kid - he turned 19 on may 30th too. unreal where the time has gone I will never know.

Hh is getting ready for high school - yikes hard to believe that we will be doing all kinds of things with her ( she was accepted to the PAH- program ) a performing arts and humanities studies inside her high school program. She has expresses a desire to go out for Softball, and we are spending some time and money outfitting the girl for the summer and beyond.

I have had one busy month.

at work we are in " open enrollment" the laws and plans and knowledge needs my full attention for the whole period, not to mention that I do a volunteer scout service at this time of the year too.

What you may ask yourself? I volunteer to handpaint bottle caps for webelos weekend. how many you may inquire? wel how about 600 or so...... Yikes what am I thinking? well it doesn't leave me much time for anything else.

So here I am a day away from teh END of open enrollment, a few days past completing my scout duty ( task) . My house is clean- my mother-in-law is in the house! SSD2 is Graduating from high school- I can't make this stuff up - I am ready for some R&R-

fun was had by all we are glittered and glamed and have had a marvolus holiday with our friends and their family- wow we loved everyjam packed and peaceful moment alike.

Hh and her twin seperated at birth J had fun, and were enjoying a glitter filled egg treat here.

I am just killing a tiny bit of time before having to leave for the train station, we will travel back home overnight and be in Denver in the morning, S will take us for a little breakfast and then I think I will do a little laundry and try to get myself ready for another work week.

The University of Nebraska's quilt (museum) -Awesome

our story- we recorded a friendship story (just QT and K8) and a family story with 4 of us including J and Hh.

the exhibit was fascinating, the quilts under the microscope and the Perspective ( contemporary quilts) we so awesome!! unbelievable the color techniques and different style was so interesting. the color the vibe, the audio tour a smashing success. The under the microscope equally interesting in the things not to do to the quilts ( like wash them) and the deterioration that happens with different factors like bleaching in calico's ( red ones were especially vulnerably) and iron ore used to create the color brown - caused oxidation -read as rusted- and this ate away fabric too... the girls were even intrigued i think with the clothing and fabric in detail and close up.

The only thing we didn't get to do was Take pictures of any of the quilts. but the day was great.

We went to the Germans from Russia museum and research center too. There was a large population that were settled in Nebraska- they were interesting too. We took pictures of the things that they used and brought with them from the old country. they have a large ansestry-geneology study center.

Hh and I are off on our Holiday adventure tonight, we should have departed at 8:00pm from Denver arriving in Lincoln by 4:30 am - but there is Engine Trouble with Amtrak in the sierra nevadas and snow too apparently since this train comes from LA through lots of mountains on its way to the plains.

So the latest estimate from the Amtrak customer service is 12:30 pm arriving at 9:30 approx in Lincoln. we will eat dinner and make calls to the local station master advise is to arrive at least an hour early and wait! well Kate and J we are coming just going to take us a little longer than expected. :) see you soon girlfriends.

Snow in Denver

I am over the snow, I am wishing for a snow day - Hh has one tomorrow with a make-up day on the 5th of april ( but we will be on our way back to Denver that day so it will be hooky for her.

Tonight it took us 3 hours to drive out of Boulder and environs and make it home with out to many detours and mishaps. welcome to spring Colorado style.

I am not looking forward to more overnight and into the morning. well off to bed with me.

PRNDL a word? Well hh thinks so it was cute and funny, we went to do a little car shopping Tuesday night and when we got in the first vehicle hh says wow this one even come with a "prindle". So S and I look at each other and say what is that? She's pretty jazzed about it at this point and we don't have a clue what it is…. Well she points to the automatic shifter and says " you know a prindle"!! well needless to say we tell her that is not a common term, ask a few of your friends you text and ask your brother J? she says o.k and texts a couple of friends and J, he has no clue and his buddies don't either, her friends don't know. So I tell her text cha cha and see if they give you an answer, and yes they did and it was a term used to identify the gear shifter on an automatic transmission. And so it goes life with children is never dull.

Today at lunch. i had a salad, yeah me! but.... as i put on the dressing, i put the lid back on and was going to give the whole thing a shake and well what do you know the lid was NOT really on very well.
Good thing I am in the office mostly by myself and the ladies room is not far. Good thing I have on a cami under my shirt. I ended up taking it OFF and washing it with soap and water, wringing it and heading back in the office ( Door closed) turned on a fan and set it on a chair in the sun, it is almost dry again and I think I maight be o.k. for my presentation this afternoon.

yesterday night on the way home from AMC-office about 5:00pm MST in a "new bus" these particular busses are used on RTD routes that do NOT have to go downtown, the buses were orderd from a european maker but are to large apparently to fit in the garage under the market stree & 16th street mall, they are very nice busses but very tall! seats are a little narrower than some other buses in the regional fleet. so it is a comfy ride anyway

The Pantone forcast for spring is pretty and full of colors that appeal to me on a deeper -sense level. of course there is the requisite (purple) is a shade of violet that is near my own colorology of 2/2

I was struck by this and need to give an apology to someone I love. - it is difficult to prove that Love will always expect the best, and it is difficult to say I didn't stand my ground in defending him. I let bad behavior knock me down and allowed myself not to defend him. alot of water has gone under the bridge, and I hope I can convey that i truely love him and DO defend him and stand by him and I always expect the best. It's tough to be a mom.

So here goes nothing....

1. I know how to sew pretty well, and when I was a very poor newly wed ( the first time) I would go to Walmart by discounted fabric (* dollar a yard) and Sew my own clothes.

2. am am addicted to " junk t.v." and spend time watching HGTV, TLC and MTV yup all have series with addictive qualities for me.

3. I hate to File ( my pile is huge and it drives me crazy) and I file into boxes - with not alot of rhyme or reason.

4. I am a scrapbooker at heart but also have a fondness for card making and altered art. Sometimes i get creative lulls and I haven't scrapped seriously in a while now.

5. I skipped the 7th grade and missed some basics of science - biology in particular. My friends in high school would introduce me as -- this is Tammy she skipped a grade-- yup little smarty pants.

6. as an adult I went through adult leader training in Boy Scouts and received my " wood badge" I am very proud to say I am an antelope and learned so much about myself during this training. I have the best patrol mates and lifelong friends I have made through scouting.

7. I didn't watch T.V. for almost 5 years while we lived in Europe - I missed Happy Days in it's entirety and only know about it from watching re-runs.

24 hour buggy

Seems it has taken us all for a ride the last few days - since sunday - I went back to work today and Hh back to school, SSD2 seems no worse for the wear. Life goes on ....

Hh managed to get a guitar over the weekend, a clasical one that is very pretty, being the guitar virgin that I am I know not what we have gotten into. We called Ollie and had a nice chat again don't know what we have gotten into? :)

S. IS FREAKING amazing. he fixed the mom van and it is up and running.

We went to church this morning but SSD2 heaved about 20 minutes into the service, not sure what happened, he gave a big burp then looked at me said " trashcan" and chucked up all the breakfast we had less than an hour prior!! all over the floor and carpet, tile and all the way to a restroom. - it sucked and we were a bit emarrased.

not sure if it was a little bug ( tummy upset) or something worse we will have to keep an eye on him.

the Mom van is back in the driveway tonight. It will not be traveling for a day or two. I hope we can get it running soon.
it is getting older and we baby it along, S is amazing and works his magic on it, keeps it going - it is really something else.
he broke his cell phone - the screen is cracked, it dropped to the ground while he was inspecting the Mom-van - so now it is pouring a bit on our troubles.
his car is not running well either and for whatever reason we can't figure out what would help it. He has tried all kinds of things to trouble shoot it with not much success.
We have lots of outgo and not much inflow at the moment. it is a stressor for me and him.

Have faith and a bit of happiness ( we will ride this out together)

I am a daughter ( an only daughter- not an only child!)

I am a mother to an only daughter ( she also is not an only child) and three sons. (step mother too) this is the best job in the world with the least pay or benefits.

I am an artist - I work in paper and paint and photos. I love the world I create with my own thoughts.

I am a sister to my two brothers- each one needing me in a different way

I am an aunt to my nephew- how I love all these guys/boys/men that surround me.

I am the rock and the diplomat - in my family each revolve around me and my love is for them all. family and friends turn to me.

I am the most unconditional but my dad is who I model - his love , his funny humor and his trusting nature are my guideposts.

I am a wife, for that I am ever in gratitude to the lord for giving me the best, and saving it for last. to find my soul mate and friend in my husband is joy without end.

I am sensitive , I hurt at the unjustness in the world, I cry at the drop of a hat, i cry when I am frustrated or happy too.

I am a co-worker along side my team mates and others, working for good. Raised with the depression era work ethic handed down by my parents and their parents, I take responsibility seriously.

I am a friend better sometimes than others, needier sometimes than others, mentoring sometimes, being lifted up sometimes, but most of all loyal and true.

I am hard to define for myself..... LOL

The night was past and the morning was come, the gifts were given and received..... there was a great burst of carols, the Peace of the World had dawned, strife had passed away, every hand was linked in hand, every heart was singing.

office mates have given their secret santa gifts, our supervisor has given us a few gifts too. we got some cute little bell door knob hangers this week at our christmas function at work.

we are attending parties the last of which is S's tomorrow night at the downtown Broker ( always my favorite) lots of yummy shrimp as an appitizer and a wonderful dinner too.

my good deeds will include going to the church for alter " duty" in preparation of the big night and then there will be rewards too.

Ia ma ready for the holiday cheer and have wraped all the presents and am looking forward to some time with family and friends.

This is the routes in Boulder for the RTD at the stop I go home from ! Theses shots were taken on Monday night, waiting for the 4:45 bus home :) the temps were in the single digits and the snow was so dry and fluffy you could just bush it away- almost blow and it would have disappeared.

this is the street corner that I cross in the evening to catch the going home bus. the light is not very long there in the direction we cross, but it is still nice to have a stop light.

this is looking toward my building and the flat irons, I love the mountain view and when the hills are covered in snow

All of my team has these note boards on our office doors- they have 3m sticky stuff on top and white board on the bottom.

in febuary- I send out my round of valentine cards and I wanted to do something fun and nice for my co-workers in my office. Well I made a little tage these are about the size of a Mini Pearl price tag and made of the same white card and white cotton string. Well I made the 1st of a whole tradition in the makeing and then one said you could do one a month with a theme and the idea just took off. each of my co-workers gets a tag on their door display each month and everyone looks forward to the little tiny reminder to smile.

so Fab was hearts and valentine, march was the shamrock, april is the rain showers, may was the flowers- in pots, June was the beach, july the red white an blue stars theme, august was the sun shine, September was back to school, october is the pumpkins on black tags, november is the leaf shaped tags and December the christmas trees!
