i took yesterday off and went here

Exempla good Samaritan medical center

And this is what I had done, along with the other Cancer health screening and blood work.

so a little humor is in order.....

A fourtish woman was at home happily jumping on her bed and squealing with delight.

Her husband watches her for a while and asks, "Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look? What's the matter with you?"

The woman continues to bounce on the bed and says, "I don't care. I just came from having a mammogram and the doctor says I have the breasts of an 18 year-old."

The husband said, "What did he say about your 46 year old ass?"

"Your name never came up," she replied.

Then I went here to a new Local scrapbook store
but it was closed so I stopped at archiver's where I did send 5 bucks to sooth my sore arms and breasts.

will add more later.

the leaves are turning a little bit

on the road to Windy Peak Outdoor School open house today we saw a little bit of gold and alot of blue sky - it was windy- windy -windy but a beautiful day for a car trip and a nice visit.
Hh will be going to a week of " outdoor Lab" this winter! in Febuary but I think she will have fun.
the Girls ( Hh and her friend CT) had a great time and got their fears taken care of. They were worried about stuff- like what the cabin and beds looked like. what the bathrooms looked like and where they would be generally. So going to the open house helped them both alot. Most of the kids in our school district go durring 6th grade, but the neighboorhood school is small and the calsses are combined 6th and 5th - so we only send our kids everyother year. So this is Hh's year.  Posted by Picasa

Pantone Colorstrology

This is an interesting topic, and somehow- my blog is totally at the top of the search for this topic!

Here is the actual web site ( pantone colorstrology)

I got tuned into this web site about a year ago and it has been on the top of my site meter searches, after I wrote two articles and linked to the web site before. One of the searches is for a mispelling too. Colorology instead of strology ( like the word astrology) It gets tons of searches and hits to my link. it is the next most viewed pages on my site meter.

The Premise of the web site is to link color in your life with your personality traits. To use color to your advantage. Positive self image and using color in life and work is all good. So welcome to my little corner of the world , all of you color seekers.

almost a year

I have been helping to do the bulletin and newsletter at church for almost a year now! and my MOJO has gone out the window with this " job" , it has been rewarding and tiring and time consuming all at once.

I know that it has been part of my stewardship to the church. As a part of tithing, time and talent as well as my treasure! But I am getting ready to move on and get back to my scrapping time. for the last month I have done the whole thing on my own, but the church has a new rector and we are getting at least a part time secretary, so it will be up to them to get this back on track.

everyone at church has been good about me doing this chore, and I have gotten lots of thanks, so that has made a job worthwhile. Thanks for listening to me whine a bit here and there about this work.

Where was I when the world stopped turning

I was in the shower that morning, with my shower radio on,( this is my normal status in the morning, as I don’t always have time to listen to the news weather and traffic when I get upstairs in the morning, I try to do it right as I am showering). S was up and getting ready for work, he was looking on the news online. ( his morning routine) , when the morning show on KYGO a country channel here in Denver, actually broke into a song, to report that a plane had flown into the world trade center building, they didn’t have much more news than that—I hurried to finish my shower and get to where S. was, As I came out of the bathroom, I told him to hurry and put the t.v. on and find some news, a plane was involved in an accident with the world trade center. We went right to the news, and then we saw the second plane, and of course like the rest of the world we couldn’t believe what we just saw and what it really meant (terrorists)

Hh was in 1st grade and we didn’t want to take her to school that day. With friends we decided to go to the park and get away from the TV’s that afternoon, after watching all the tragedy that happened in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington. So we spent a few hours hugging and loving our kids and our friends.

Then my world began to unravel too, I had been mostly a stay at home mom for a couple of years, but after 9-11 S lost his job, we started over at square one. It has been an up and down 5 years for us. We had lows and highs. But the world changed on that day we all became a little more jaded, a little more patriotic and a little less innocent about others.

I will remember today and everyday to not let my freedom be taken for granted, to love those around me with my whole heart, because you never know what is around the next corner. Peace to all the survivors of this day.

my round up a little late

Find this Wonderful Scrapbook Lady

This is her inspiring idea called round up.

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
my normal subscriptions to Memory Makers and Creating Keepsakes, magazines and managed to get most of the way through all of them. I got a new paper craft mag and did read it. I bought a B& g publication called EAT, it has great recipes in it. I began a book called the second assistant.

What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
I had a weekend marathon last weekend of the design star series on HGTV, I love that show. We watched Man on Fire and two for the money, both I had never seen before. We watched Ella enchanted and Fever pitch, fun Chicky flicks.

What special days did I celebrate and how?
We celebrated SS, D’1’s birthday early in the month, We got to see my Brother ( the younger) We visited with my mother –in-law and her friend PJ, We went to celestial season’s tea factory Plant 2 times in 30 days! It was great and I learned a ton of things about tea. We enjoyed samples and made some fun purchases, like an herb filled kitty cat for my shoulders. That looks just like my real kitty Rasputin. The kids are all returned to school, after much money and time spent gathering needed supplies, clothes and other necessaries.

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
I am having little flutters in my chest and I am not sure weather it is related to a pill I take or not, so it is off to the doctor very soon for an appopintment, to determine the need to be concerned with this.

What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
See entry under special days.

What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
S and I went out to eat at Papadeaux’s a Chain of seafood restaurant” Cajun” cooking. It was great, but we waited for over an hour to be seated! And the restaurant seats 600!!! , but I fell in love with Cajun food when we first visited new Orleans many years ago. So this made me happy to have a little taste of a memory. I made a pork Mole, a kind of sauce for meat made with chocolate or cocoa – it was great, S and I enjoyed it. Over rice.

What special or unusual purchases did I make?
I bought me some new books and a couple of calendars “ Susan Branch” heart of the home calendars. I love her art work and sentiments and she appeals to me on a heart level. As well as an art level. LOL. I went to Target and bought a frame for a printed poster, I got a great deal on a clearance frame for 8 dollars- 16 x 20 inches.

What were this month’s disappointments?
To many days spent doing too many things for others. Not enough creative time, I would like to get back into a social scrapping routine. When I ran my own scrap message spin-off e-mail board, I used to at least get to scrap once a month.

What were my accomplishments this month?
I made card’s for my mother in law and my mom for their respective birthdays, I did the bulletin for church every week, this month I will be coming up on a year of doing them. I think this is a great accomplishment, I have really improved my word skills and editing skills. I has forced me to get out of my box and learn new things , that is a great thing for me, as I am a lifelong learner.

Anything else noteworthy to record?
I took a mini break form blogging but I promise to blog more regularly real soon. I enjoy this everyday part of my life.

Angie Peterson has industry news you can use!

Scrapbook industry news and all kinds of interesting things. I am especially interested in these new printers from epson
that she is talking about. As you all might remember me having talked about my picturemate printer and how much I love it, I was a hp girl with the print head being an issue for me. If you read this blurb though I think I am going to want one for sure. I already love the color and longevity on my 4x6 pictures.
