an emergency- and a floor

So my E.R Baby - strikes again. J nearly severed part of his thumb while at the house over the weekend cutting in Tiles for the upstairs bathroom. Why on a sunday? seems like this kid was destined to have emergencies. He was almost done and had about three cuts left to do when the razor utility knife cut right through the thumb but left it attached at the fingerprint pad. we were going to go and have dinner out but that got cutailed with and ER visit.
he got about 8 stiches and the doc used some super glue on his nail to hold it all together, we will see how it does in the next day or so, he has it wraped pretty well right now, but he will have to see it tomorrow . the ER recomended to go to a hand specialist too. so one step at a time right now. Life with boys always an adventure ( you seriously can't make this stuff up.

happy 4th of July -

Hh is going to a lacrosse game at invesco field with friends and neighbors- there should be great fireworks and fun times. SSD2 wanted to Go home and that is where S will take him this evening too.
we had a nice time yesterday with our Friend Dan and J came by and stayed for dinner and some fun after and before. I am so proud of him, he finally got his driver's licence and is driving his own vehicle. he is a grown up guy these days, It is nice he can set aside some of the things and make a little time for me.
The weather was fairly mild today and we just had a bit of a rain shower- nice for the firemen and police not to worry too much about the fireworks. Maybe we will try to go somewhere for a " view " of some of the 40 to fifty displays happening around the City and Suburbs of Denver.

24 hour buggy

Seems it has taken us all for a ride the last few days - since sunday - I went back to work today and Hh back to school, SSD2 seems no worse for the wear. Life goes on ....

Hh managed to get a guitar over the weekend, a clasical one that is very pretty, being the guitar virgin that I am I know not what we have gotten into. We called Ollie and had a nice chat again don't know what we have gotten into? :)

breckenridge excellence - black belt testing

Lots of testers for this Prep Cycle
After getting the final belt with old ones on the floor

Kicking and endurance were part of the testing too

Tons of sitting and waiting and waiting some more focus and fidget less?? yuk that was the hardest part I am sure

All Those men are VIP's our G.M. Seo and his G.M. Kim are the middle and Hh on the right side with the other 19 testers in her group

High Brown Achieved !

A long weekend in Breckenridge with Seo's National Karate- HH has achieved the rank of High Brown belt the real first step to black belt excellence. The trip was pleasant and there was a ton of hurry up and wait all weekend long. This is a pretty typical scenario with GM Seo. I did tons of sitting so did Hh mostly on the hard carpeted floors. She says she even got a butt chap LOL :)

Choped and kick through boards

HH- Karate Choped and kicked through 5 boards at the board breaking event this weekend!
the Chop is most impressive to me, she got it the 1st time around and everytime this event. = she just had to not overthink it and imagine following through
We are 1/2 way through what is called Prep-cycle for the high black belt testing and that is going well too. She is really focused on improving her overall game. She is working hard toward greater goals. I think the testing will be tough but fair.

More about the parade

This is the Grand Master of the school, master Seo
The Karate group - speacial weapons demo team in the black tops and regualr students in the red tops

This was the Arvada Harvest festival parade ( one of the longest in existance accross the state) - they do this every fall, Hh was required to participate as part of the Karate school and I will post some photos of their grouip here too. you can not see her as she was across the street and holding on to a huge American flag as part of thier display. They got the " largest float award" for the sheer size of the flag- it took about 70 people to carry it the parade route.

see what I won??

Design Block Butterfly Wood Mounted Stamp- From Hero Arts- it is pretty and sweet to have won in a tweeting contest!
now to make some cards and use this in a project. I need a creative muse- my mojo has been seriously lacking, I haven't even altered anything in a while.
reading all the tweets from CHA and following some new bloggers has helped a bit but I am lacking girlfriend power. I haven't been motivated to crop by myself in a while, it seems to take too much effort to be nice to other people. LOL , but maybe I will finally get motivated to scrap hh and my trip to beautiful San Deigo ( that has been in my scrapping brain for a while)

in sunny San Diego

we arrived in sunny SD on friday night, and have had a fantastic time so far!
we took the old town trolly tour and went swiming in the ocean at la Jolla yesterday - it was freezing cold! but we stayed in and had a blast.
we swam in the hotel pool and sat in the spa and have been living the life of the princesses we are. We could adjust to this life in a heartbeat. My aunty is fab and her hubby is awesome. They make the darn cutest couple we have been with in a long time.
will post up some photos when we have more time and get home.

Skyventure indoor skydiving - Hh's adventure

I'm flying. And now I'm soaring. And, abruptly, I'm plummeting like a rock. And then I'm sort of flying again and Derick, my skydiving instructor, is using the hand signal he showed us earlier that means "relax."

I'm trying to relax, really I am. But I'm falling and flying and flopping around in the 120-mph breeze trying to do as well as the 40-year-old man who did so well in the flight tunnel just before me. Of course, the Man had prior skydiving experience and whirled around through the artificial windblown sky.

Me, I'm a sack of potatoes tumbling through the air. Apparently I have yet to master the "Superman" pose employed by my friend T, who came with me to fly. She is acting like a kite through the 120-mph breeze like, well, Superwoman. But am I having fun? You better believe it. She had a blast too.

I've wanted to skydive for about a year now- but thought better of it, what with jumping out of a perfectly good airplane and all. Skyventure is skydiving without the legitimate fear, or mathematical probability, of death. This is skydiving lite, but it's still great fun.

And if you don't want to thrust yourself into the wind-driven vortex, ( like my mom) spectators are given a seat in an observation area to view all the fun they're missing.

Adventure accessories provided: helmet, jumpsuit, goggles, instructions on how to stay alive, photo of yourself flying (prices vary).

another altered house

This is what I did with my weekend. - this is Doodle bug and some cute papers- creative imaginations- from a local scrapbooks store in Longmont. The black glitter is from magic scraps ( my stash from years gone by) , the stairs have micro beads -clear- coating them, makes them sore of stone-ish. the little stickers are jolies boutique- grand edition, haunted house.
