Purple people and paint 2

tired and dirty feet, mine are this way too :)
Zuzzy likes the purple carpet we bought 5x7 area rug thqat will be a fun addition
The light is very nice on the fan, we both like this alot, S was able to make it work great, he is the best guy around, he makes lots of things work and repairs lot of stuff, fixes things and is a great self sufficiant Man. !!! I love him a ton.
we shampooed the carpet too, I hope you can tell how the walls are definately purple. we will post more phots after we load in furniture maybe tomorrow night we'll see, I am off to bed soon, I am very tired.

Purple people and paint

Thanks Granma Ollie for the new Fan ! and the remote - this really will be the thing that is loved in Hh's new space.
We bought designer light switch plates and outlet/covers - black for the accent color.
We trimmed out the doors and the cove base trim - as well as a desk and bookshelf and standards and shelfs in black. 2 more in Purple- we will move furniture and stuff in tomorrow sometime.
This is the remote control for the fan and the light it even has a dimmer mode- very cool.
one tired puppy - that is what we all are. this is lots of work, but it has been very rewarding.

I told you it was green!

here it is - you can see the top photos with Kermit that it is his " green" ! Check out the little dresser with the green knobs. this was a dresser my parents purchased whe my youngest brother was just a baby- we painted it white and the knobs have been lots of different colors depending on where and who's room it is in, so now there are green knobs.
in the closet the bar got painted green! and all the white accessories are a nice contrast to the green, we like the navy blue spread and curtain. so over all I would say this is a. ok. !
The computer Desk was made for this space, though it has seen other places in the house - it is ideal here in this space. SSD2 loves the computer and his dad is good about making sure he is connected.

Kermit Green

This is the color of the Room for SSD2- since the bigesst boy moved out and the youngest wants the bigest space, and we need a guest bed set up, we worked hard last week to wash walls and re-paint.
this was an oops color we found at home depot - and yes it really is this shade we even took SSD2 real kermit and put him on the bed and low and behold it was this green!
I will take a picture or two over the weekend and see If I can capture the New look.
I am off on Friday the 4th for the holiday and we are aiming to paint the larger of the rooms then for move in the following week by Hh - I am not sure , but she is pretty happy to get the master bedroom.

My hits still include colorology, all of us SSD2, Hh and I have color in the purple range being that we are Feb Babies, but this is the opposite color on the color wheel from the purple, so I think that is why we all are drawn too it. SSD2 was very pleased with color and is even in the groove with making sure the bed gets made and the room stays neat.

Using the Flex account??

Where did all the money go in this account? Why can't I get the right amount to balance through out the year?

S will be getting some New teeth - starting this year going over to the next year. tomorrow is the 1st in a series of steps with his teeth. He gets one quadrant pulled, then next week another and then sometime in the new plan year ( august) he will get the final pulled in front and a new set of crazy good choppers.

Me I will be getting that all to fun Mamogram- slam and regular other check up on thursday morning. I have had an issue that I will discuss with my doc and hope to resolve. I am now in the Peri-menoposal stages of my life I believe and I am having an issue that must be dealt with or I am not going to be able to function-- give you details on another day.

I am back up with E-mail

I will post a bit more soon, but my-e-mail is back online.

Boys will be Boys

Sometimes it is very hard to be a Mom / stepmom. I really don't seem to get the need for the boys to " lie" about things?

SSD1 is on the move - as in out of here-- He will be moving back in with his mother, not sure at what success this will be, or how long it will last, but I am at the end of my tolerance for boy bad behavior.... and she can have a little taste of a do nothing attitude and I am all done with school...She can buy 3.50$ milk and 4.00 gas to feed him and run him around. I am ready to be done with it for a while. we have had him in our home for 4 years now, and I believe we were instrumental in his high school success. It is hard to see him just want to blow it all out and take an easy route, instead of working to a goal. But some times you just have to let some of the dreams and hopes go by the wayside and hope to GOD that you have equiped these kids well, and they will do o.k. it will just take a bit of time.

right now though I am done with lies - I would rather have the disapointing truth and know the real failure than be lied to because it is easier than disapointing me and Dad and ( the worst is lying to yourself) others. It is easier to believe our own lies and deceits that acknowledge our short commings, maybe some of the " truths of life" will come with age and maturity, I can only send my prayers up for GOD to take care of him and help him to know his strengths as well as his weaknesses.

the Lion Cut? the Clown cut LOL ?

This is Zuzzie, she was so very matted, that we gave in and had her shaved~~ S and I have shaved her ourselves a couple of summers ago and it was good, this is great and was so worth the money she was in a horrible state.
she is funny now and loves the fact that we all " want to pet her" since she stays inside I think I may try to maintain her look for a while. We had a ton cat hair all over because she is one fluffy cat. not now, this is so much better.

award winner!

One of the two students at her school to get this outstanding award Hh was pretty pleased with herself. It is a certificate signed by George W Bush! she has been in the 90% range from 4th grade through the end here- that is what qualified her to receive this award. There were only 26 kids in her school in the 6th grade- a great kido in the making!!! I am a very proud mom tonight. There was a congrats letter as well. way to GO GIRL.

steamboat springs adventure

we made a little side trip for S's work- paid hotel fee's at the Rabbit ears motel- right across the street from the Heart hot springs.

the Horse and sign are from FM light and son's ( we worked there) this was a very nice established business -5th generation-103 years in business clothes and things for the ordinary guy, with boots and shoes and stetsons galore.

we soaked in the hot springs and had a blast overall, this is one place I would go again for sure.

a few fishy facts

AS you can see below, a fish tank is mine ( I asked for it) I am now successfully keeping 5 alive! for the last few days anyway. The really cool fish are gone, but the rosy minnows and the little neons (2 ) are still hanging in there.

I would like to add more, but am unsure of what the contributing factor of death is... so steady as she goes for the moment. This is a fresh water tank with comunity fish. I like the black light and the way the plants and rocks look by the UV light. So I will keep at it a while longer.

the Tank

with the day flash and the night black light views. I am not doing so good with the fish keeping them alive is harder than I thought.

I have had a busy two weeks, but will be posting a few things tonight.

I haven't talked about J in a while...

It has been 6 months since J moved in with his dad J-ex, things have quieted down here, it has been a welcome relief in some ways that he is away from us. It is hard to talk about still. It still makes me tear up a bit to think of him fighting me so hard and long and what a relief to not fight and not stress about where he is what he's doing what non-sense i have to face.

I don't think things are ultimately better- he is still tardy and absent without cause too many times... but no one at the school holds him acountable for this either, 21 tardies in his first period class would make me insane if I were the teacher( what disrepect this shows) not to mention that you just plain miss out on the things that need to be done. I wish that things would be different for J, I wish he liked where he was at more. I feel badly that I made a tough love choice - but ultimately it was for the best for all of us. we certainly could not continue on the path we were on.

I am happy to see him and he is always willing to give me hugs so that is a good thing. his hair is back long- he is going to be 17 at then end of this month- it doesn't seem possible. someday I hope he will understand what it was like to do what I did.

a saga with Ice cream

I have a thing - a problem if you will- with a particular need, I like a certain sundae at Dairy Queen.... I have been ordering it for years with varying degrees of success. I started out innocently enough when I was in high school.... my Junior year, I dated a young man ( my first Love) he would treat me to dairy queen on dates. I would order my treat and we would enjoy time together out side and summer evenings were the best. This particular item ( special order) would stay with me, the ultimate for me in indulgences and/or just a feel better treat-- to take me back to a time of remember when. I continued to order it on occasion if I treated myself to ice cream during my first marriage. it was more of a comfort food then..... and a joy full treat it has been on occasion when it is made to my satisfaction during my marriage to S.

But the Dark side to this saga is just how wrong it is on most occasions, and sadly it has really nothing to do with me ordering it incorrectly.... it really has to do with the sloppy nature of the service industry today and in the last few years. It sometimes gets corrected if I fuss or refuse to take it the way it is made. I some times ( like tonight) gets hidden inside a bag to be discovered later at home..... it sometimes can be done over with much fuss, it can be done correctly if I don't go through the drive thru but instead hover over the counter help who will make my treat.
When it is done wrong though - that really pisses me off!!!! It really makes me angry when a customer devoted industry doesn't listen or repeat back and order from a customer. So this evening I was PISSED OFF due to this lack of attention to the customer, lack of detail in repeating orders back, lack luster service provided by young people behind a counter at my most local dairy queen store.

So you may ask, just what do you get and how bad can they screw it up??? Well I will tell you my special request..... a Cherry sundae made with Chocolate SoftServe and nut topping, and whip cream. Really not too hard, but the help can-not manage an unusual combination. so very rarely these days do I get this correct unless I stand over the counter help and shake my head and make noise.... this requires NO drive thru.... so I don't have time to always breathe down the necks of those making my sundae. Well tonight they missed again and messed it up, the drive thru distorted my request and somehow I didn't get chocolate soft serve. ah well the saga will continue......

personality type hype?

You Are An ENFJ
The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed.
Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections.
Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down.
You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine.

In love, you are very protective and supporting.
However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous.

At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential.
You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist.

How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud

a whirlwind has been set in motion

I am completely busy at work! and home and at church! - but that is life at the moment, it has just picked up pace and moved.

the Web team I am on is going along, but the place that has been busy is our web site for our open enrollment online. It won't mean much to all my blogging buddies but here is the URL if you are interested in seeing what has consumed my time.

I also recorded some presentation pieces- the Faculty and Exempt professional and the retiree one, so if you want a little laugh or the hear me ( my co-workers say I have a calming voice!!) then you can go through a presentaion or even a little bit of it! my first broadcast .....

we had a vestry retreat for St. James yesterday and that is full of work on what direction we will be visioning in the future. I think overall it went well, but we still haven't found a place to " spend" some of our money.

I am off to make breakfast for the gang at home, then off to church, have a wonderful sunday. chiao

silly feet say a bunch

What Your Feet Say About You:
You are pretty average in your expressiveness. You can express yourself well, but you don't always want to.

You are a very passionate person. You are highly charged and easily inspired.

You are an assertive person at times. You'll pull out all the stops to get what you want, if it's worth it.

You take a while to fall in love, but once you do, you stay pretty attached to your partner.

You are not afraid of anything. You are brave and courageous, even when most people would be terrified.

You are intellectual and philosophical. You are more concerned with thoughts than action.

You are an amazingly hard worker. You aren't spoiled and you don't mind getting your hands dirty.

You are easily influenced by other people. You're quite impressionable, so you should only be around people who are a good influence.

All beaded! A fantastic evening

This is my Troop Guide- and over on the far side the ScoutMaster for my Woodbadge course. I am getting my new neckwear and with me are SSD1 and Hh and my S- This was one of the best nights ever for me in Scouting. We had a great turn out and a nice Dinner and a large cake. Here we are All my Patrol mates - we are doing the antelope cheer- look up on the slope there's an antelope!
We agreed that the patrol flag would go to the person who is getting their beads, Brian got it for 4 short days, I get it until the next person beads and then I will take it to them for their beading. what a fantastic support system.
this is about number 5 in a series of photos that S took, with Me and my Boss and my supervisor! we laughed and chatted our way through most of the photos S took but this one really cracked me up- my expression in priceless.
All in all this was a lovely way to spend an evening. my friends, my family, my troop and a great bunch of boys!

Beading - I am number three from WE5 61 2 07

Well I am going to actually get my second bead, having completed my tickets, I am going to do it at my troop's court of honor. Tomorrow night my troop, my patrol mates and my boss and supervisor, and most importantly my family will be there to support my most important work I have done for myself.

I feel that this course really opened up my abilities- it gave me confidence to move forward and lead ( boys and my work team) my troop too. It has given me confidence in my work too. This was one of the most profound experiences I have had in my life. I would highly recomend it to fellow scouters. It really is worth the time spent to learn that you can just say ON!

A big thanks to my Friends Karen and Art, with out thier ongoing help and support I wouldn't have done it. A big thanks to my S for his love and support and making sure the home fires stayed burning. A big thanks to my boss Michelle for allowing me to go to the weekends when I just had started my new job and had no leave! A big thanks to my Patrol mates whom were there at every turn supporting an " old Lady" I can't say enough about my new guy friends.

We will take some photos tomorrow and I will post a couple in a few days. I am the third person from my Course to receive my beads, my patrol mate beat me by a week:)
