my bus riding mornings

these are some of my regular - rider friends for a monday morning they look pretty happy to be going to work :) Vanessa- Wendy and Ohmira they all work for the university of Colorado in Boulder too.

this is the parking structure on the "east side" of the park and ride, we wait to go to work on this side. these photos are not in a very logical order.

here I am inside the bus, the east facing window is bright early in the am - we get picked up before 7 am at our PNR ! ( park and ride)
This is the hill going into Boulder and Boulder Res., in the forground, and the veiw is looking out toward estes park-ish west by north west.

this is the view of the Park and Ride from the " west side" I park here and walk across to the east side in the morning, so I don't have to walk across in the afternoon. This is the bridge that crosses the highway from west to east is how I cross this every morning! I see regular riders going the other way as well. We always nod and say good morning.
This is just on the east side looking south east-ish into the neighboorhood. there are a few hotels
Here is the veiw of the bridge I cross after getting to the east side. The busses pull right up here to pick us up !

well there is my early morning comute these days- I am saving gas money and riding about 4 days a week sometimes 5!

the Padres beat us! - but we still had fun in the sun

it was hot and sunny and not Funny! the Padres gave us a good spanking on Sunday.

it was Faith Day at the rockies and we had great tickets on the thirdbase line at the foul pole. only 12 rows up. the kids had fun and the we took gloves and sunscreen and hats. ate peanuts and drank soda. all in all a nice way to wind up a week

Back to School soon-

I talked about the trauma of the imunizations the other day, well tonight was the exciting registration, find my locker, learn a combination and fail and try again - until you realize that S didn't give us the right locker number ( dislexic??)- once we figured out the right locker, try again right, left, right- combo- S marked the right and then HH she got it LOL !!

she's excited but really excited at the prospect of a " bigger" library!! I find this funny, but sad, she read everybook in the elementary library and we had to find her new material quite often- from my home library instead. So the prospect of new books to read is so inviting. I am gald she is looking forward to this.

the 7th graders get a day on their own before the intigration of both 7th and 8th - this made her feel better about it too, though they have somekind of wierd rotating schedule ( we did too- if I remember right) Why they do this is beyond me but will keep them occupied for a few days until they settle in .

kind of mac and cheese colored??!!

with white trim, it does look pretty yellow, with a tint of Mac and Cheese!! it needs a vacuum and then to set up beds and stuff - we will probably leave the desk in there too. not sure yet.

Hh has been a trooper and helped a lot with all the work. I am glad we work pretty well together. But I am about do with this stuff for a while.

dark and light -

S, HH and I went to see the Dark Night - today! very well done, very dark and very gorry - bloody - even Hh liked it and she has not seen any of the others in the theater I don't think. I was a great movie, good to see it on the big screen, was good pace and great effects and visuals.

then we came home and painted- the third room is now a very sunny yellow - it is an oops paint too. I will be posting pictures soon, we need to do the trim and touch ups but overall it will be inviting and great for company, (I can't wait to see you :) we still need to finish up and put the bed back in there and other furnature. but it is on its way.

I have been at my job ( which I still LOVE) at the University of Colorado Boulder- for a little over one year now. - I can't believe it but it has flown by. Friday I got news that I am getting promoted to a GPII - fantastic news - with it comes a little raise - YEAH! even better news. Well I would venture to say I am doing a good job :)

Drama, Trauma, Mama

we Have new Drama - a new hair color- cinnamon brown- it is very pretty , I think with her freckles she pulls off a bit of red with flair.
Then we had a bit of Truama today- vacsines and things to be ready for school - coming up fast.

Then we went for a bit of Mamma- fun sweet- funny singing along kind of movie!! I enjoyed every minute of it the acting a bit trite, the costumes wonderfully over the top- the laugh out loud singing moments - this may make my wish list

Resting

we worked on the 3rd bedroom, with a sugestion from Iola, we will be going with sunshine yellow. This will be a oops paint as well, this seems like a fun way to do these painting projects.

We will then put together a " spare bedroom" for future guests. Yeah

This is a Doodlebug chipboard house- small size! I gave this away as a parting gift for a girl in the office. I told her it was a home away from home, and anywhere her heart was that would be home!

the steps have micro beads in green, there are stickes and paper and other fun stuff.

oh what a night! last night

We had a tree from the neighbors house come down, in the wind. a very tall cotton wood at 11:00pm last night. it took out all the power to the house by pulling out the wire from the pole to the house( it fell on it) no one was hurt no dogs were outside, the Fence took the brunt of the damage, public service Xcel energy came out about 1:30 and worked on cutting up the piece that you can see here. and hooked us back up to power about 4:00 am this morning. So oh what a night we had, no rest at all. Tonight we had vestry and then its back to the grind in the morning.

the claims adjusters will be out tomorrow to assess all the damage, though we have a 1000.00 deductable..... lets hope we can get the fence repaired.

this is part of the reason Hh doesn't like wind- she was very scared after this happened.

Well now we need to look at the other trees the ones in our yard, to be sure they need a triming too. but for now I am off to bed I will share more pics tomorrow or this weekend, I have a new altered project to share as well. stay tuned for more news in the chronicles.

The light is very nice on the fan, we both like this alot, S was able to make it work great, he is the best guy around, he makes lots of things work and repairs lot of stuff, fixes things and is a great self sufficiant Man. !!! I love him a ton.
we shampooed the carpet too, I hope you can tell how the walls are definately purple. we will post more phots after we load in furniture maybe tomorrow night we'll see, I am off to bed soon, I am very tired.

Purple people and paint

Thanks Granma Ollie for the new Fan ! and the remote - this really will be the thing that is loved in Hh's new space.
We bought designer light switch plates and outlet/covers - black for the accent color.
We trimmed out the doors and the cove base trim - as well as a desk and bookshelf and standards and shelfs in black. 2 more in Purple- we will move furniture and stuff in tomorrow sometime.
This is the remote control for the fan and the light it even has a dimmer mode- very cool.
one tired puppy - that is what we all are. this is lots of work, but it has been very rewarding.

up coming more paint - projects

We are going to move Hh into the big room- She is very excited about this , we did pick a purple paint, she has a pink loft bed and desk - shelf combo, its already to go - she has washed the walls, and we will get it ready to go for the paint on Friday.
